Stellenbosch Country Club
Recently rebuilt greens on a challenging 18 holes set in a well wooded course, home to more than 40 species of birds, a resident merecat on the 11th, several water features, one being the short 8th, largely regarded as the signature hole on the course.
In addition, the club features a well equipped conference room capable of accommodating 120 people, a well stocked pro shop with resident Pro on hand to tweak that swing and stately clubhouse with modern amenities. Our half-way house is legendary for the excellent fare at reasonable prices.
Sundowners on the patio adjoining the well stocked bar takes in wonderful views of the 9th, 10th and 18th fairways of this historic course built in 1907.
Good quality golf carts are available for hire and the course is par rated at 71 for both ladies and men
Devonvale Country Club
The magnificent 18-hole Championship golf course needs little introduction, offering a regular challenge to both local and international golfers alike.
The original layout, designed by Ken Elkin, who designed many of the Capes better known courses, has seen several improvements over the last 5 years and is constantly undergoing improvements but still remains a true ‘country course’.
An important aspect of Devonvale’s existence is the hosting of tournaments. The estate has seen the hosting of the SA Ladies Open, Sunshine Tour, Provincial Opens, Interprovincial tournaments, Ernie Els foundations, SA Open Qualifying rounds, Interschools and Senior Opens and looks forward to hosting many more in the future as this forms part of Devonvale’s ethos.
